#116 Tuesday’s with David - “Wat Aron”

Wat Aron

David’s Insight on “Wat Aron"

One of the most iconic, beautiful, and active temples in Thailand, Wat Aron (Temple of Dawn) is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand. Built in 1809 to honor Taksin, national hero and 41st king of Thailand, the impressive central spire rises 79 meters from a square base decorated with intricate carvings and inlaid with colorful ceramic plates, glasses and shells which catch the light. This is a long exposure capture at sunset, the sun dipping lazily towards the horizon and partially hidden by the spire.
