Cuba
Cuba marked the beginning of a realization that would shape much of this archive. Beyond the color, music, and familiar imagery, there was a deeper opportunity here to preserve a record of places, traditions, and ways of life that may not exist in the same form for future generations. Across Havana, Trinidad, and the surrounding countryside, I encountered people whose dignity, humor, and grace left a lasting impression. These photographs document moments from everyday life in Cuba in 2017.
Preserved with Intention. offered to time.

Havana
Havana exists in layers. Music drifts through open doorways. Historic buildings stand beside signs of continual repair. Daily life unfolds in public view, shaped by tradition, necessity, and community. These photographs focus less on the city itself than on the people who animate it, capturing moments of expression, resilience, and grace within one of the world’s most recognizable urban landscapes.

Trinidad
In Trinidad, life unfolds at a slower pace. Trades are practiced in the open air, neighbors gather in the streets, and colorful facades frame the routines of everyday life. The photographs in this collection document the people, places, and small moments that give the town its character. Together they form a portrait of community shaped by craftsmanship, continuity, and human connection.
