Deep Time

Standing before these landscapes, it becomes difficult to think in human terms. The cliffs, canyons, arches, and stone walls were shaped over spans of time that exceed imagination. Millions of years of uplift, erosion, flood, wind, and change are written into every surface. In their presence, the concerns of a single lifetime feel remarkably small. These photographs were made across the American Southwest in 2022. Together they form a record of places where time itself becomes visible. Where stone reveals a history far older than memory and where the scale of the landscape offers a rare perspective on our place within it.
