Every culture has its keepers.

They are the women who remember the names, the stories, the customs, the recipes, the celebrations, and the losses. Much of what survives from one generation to the next passes quietly through them.

Created over more than a decade of travel, this series brings together women encountered in homes, villages, towns, and cities across Asia. Though separated by geography, language, and tradition, they share a common role: custodians of memory.

The windows and doorways surrounding them are more than settings. They are places where family histories unfold and cultural traditions were carried forward. Together, these women stand as living connections between past and future.

The photographs do not attempt to tell their stories. They simply acknowledge their presence and preserve a moment in time when they remained at the center of the worlds they helped shape.
