This work began as a search for tradition and became a reflection on stewardship. Throughout China, I encountered individuals entrusted with the keeping of culture, whether through daily practice, family inheritance, or public remembrance. Some traditions remain firmly rooted. Others are already changing form. Together, these photographs serve as a record of what is preserved, what is evolving, and what may soon exist only in memory.
