Tasman Morning
Tasman Glacier is the largest glacier on New Zealand’s South Island. After a hike in, risking limb and camera gear, climbing over slippery rocks covered with frost in the dark to get to this vantage point, we settled in to watch the sun light up Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain. The temperature drops immediately as you get closer to the glacier lake and the warmth from the hike in quickly dissipated. It’s in the moments in between, waiting for the light, that the magic happens.
