India
Across India, what remained with me was not the scale of the cities, the monuments, or the color. It was the strength of community. Again and again, I encountered people whose lives were woven together through family, neighborhood, work, and daily practice. Doors stood open. Conversations spilled into streets. Neighbors became extended family. Years later, the story that is remembered came from a man who had left the community where he was raised in search of a better life. He gained comfort and opportunity but missed being known by name. These photographs are not simply a record of places. They are a record of belonging.
