David’s Insight on “Cuban Taxi”
As a result of the US trade embargo of exports to Cuba in 1960, it seems like time has stood still in Cuba. Visiting Havana and Trinidad with their art deco architecture and swarms of classic cars is like taking a step back in time. Most classic cars are used as taxis and because of the embargo, parts are at a premium. It is a common site to see men working on these classic cars, swapping parts and improvising as needed.
