David’s Insight on “Composed”
A hint of the familiar, a whisper of recognition, a tug of nostalgia. Something pulls at our heartstrings, prodding us out of our present and transports us back in time. The lingering imprint of our matriarchs is softened by time but indelible. This image was captured in Kandy, Sri Lanka in January 2020.This is a mountainous region hosting tea plantations. Part of the “Matriarch” Series, framed by her doorway, there is something all-knowing in her eyes. That look of wisdom that comes from living many years. Our matriarchs root us in history, tradition and shared experiences.
