The matriarch.Keeper of traditions, symbol of strength and family ties. Passing family tales and lore from generation to generation. The term is one of endearment and respect.In this series, they are framed by their dwellings, captured in their doorways and windows. What better place to honor the head of the family but home? The symbol of the Matriarch is universally understood. “Red Sari” was captured in Udaipur, India on a quiet side street off of a very busy and chaotic main thoroughfare- showcasing the colors/patterns as well as the grit of India. The animals roam the streets here, often resting in the shade or in the middle of the road-always treated respectfully.
