David’s Insight on “Friends” Hoi An, Vietnam
Hoi An, Vietnam has become a tourist destination with busses lining up for blocks, flooding this ancient community with outsiders. It was difficult to get a sense of what the old part of the city was once like. Traveling a short distance outside the Old Town, it is easier to imagine how little things have changed. These two women have been neighbors their entire lives. Imagine the stories that they could tell! This portrait, entitled “Friends”, captures the mischief and closeness of this twosome. It always makes me smile.
