David’s Insight on “Galaxy Over Catherdral Rock”

Sedona, Arizona is located in the American Southwest. The semi-arid climate and low light pollution are great for star gazing over the massive red rock structures. In this image, the Milky Way is seen over Cathedral Rock as the planet Venus rises on the left. Scientists estimate that the galaxy contains 100-400 billion stars and at least that number of planets with the oldest being as old as the Universe itself. This image was captured on a SONY A7S3 with a 14mm lens at ISO 8000, 6s shutter speed and f/1.8 aperture from Lovers Knoll Viewpoint.
