David’s Insight on “Fully Loaded”
Captured outside of the main gate of the Old Medina in Fez, Morocco, this image conjures up memories of a different time.Today the scene is blended amongst the modern and it is a striking contrast. The Old City has very narrow streets, so car traffic is impossible. Donkeys are still a necessary means of transporting goods through this labyrinth of the city. The Old Medina is the heart of Fez with shops lining the narrow streets and old trades like tanneries, coppersmiths and soap making on display. A UNESCO World Heritage site, a walk beyond the gates is truly stepping back through time.
