David’s Insight on “Marooned"
Near Fort William, the Old Boat of Caol or the Corpach Shipwreck, sits on a pebbled beach with the highest mountain peak in the UK, Ben Nevis, serving as a spectacular backdrop. It is truly a hidden gem. The little town of Corpatch is situated to the left of the boat with the edges of Fort William in the frame on the right. The low-slung clouds and dappled light of the setting sun make for a magical portrait.
“Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats.” - Voltaire
