David’s Insight on “Rookie"
An intergenerational portrait captured just prior to the Pandan War ritual, honoring the God of War, Indra, in the oldest traditional village in Bali Indonesia. Surrounded by hills, this ancient village is known for its expertise in producing the one-of-a-kind double ikat weaving cloth, taking up to 3 years to complete. Only men born within the village are allowed to live here with their families. This intimate image serves to preserve the cultural continuity of an ancient place. This is a specialty print finished as a Dye Transfer Print.
