David’s Insight on “Magical Mosque Hassan II”
Commissioned by King Hassan II around 1980, this active Mosque is among the largest in the world and is the landmark building in Casablanca, Morocco. The intricate detailed carvings of the exterior are matched on the interior with elaborate decorations created by 6000 master Moroccan artisans. The second tallest minaret in the world has a laser beam oriented towards Mecca. It is partially built over the sea, the illusion of the structure floating gives it a magical aura.
