#2 Tuesdays with David - “Shanghai Nightscape”

David’s take on “Shanghai Nightscape”

This capture required some risk to get properly positioned in the middle of the street. Squatting low with my camera on a tripod, busses racing past, the traffic cops shouting at me to move, I took a couple of long exposure shots to capture the light trails from this vantage point- all while pretending not to hear the ever increasingly irate traffic cop! The result is a futuristic, cool cityscape of Shanghai, representative of its non-stop energy. The metallic tone of the bridge is balanced by the orange light from a bus. The painted lines on the street lead the eye towards the super tall buildings in the background which are quintessential Shanghai. This capture is one of my personal favorites because it is so unique.
